Easter Dinner

Royce's Easter baptism took place in Water Valley MS at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity this past Saturday evening. We celebrated after with a family dinner in our home. We had 3 different tablescapes for our many guests. Our the dinning room table was the dressiest and I got to pull out all my beautiful and prized wedding gifts. My Annie Glass wedding china, chantilly silverware, white linen napkins and placemats, and each topped with a nest, moss, and a gold leafed egg to give an Easter nod. A blue hydrangea was given to us by my parents when Royce was born and I loved getting to incorporate blue hydrangeas in Royce's party.

The weather was so perfect and we were able to enjoy drinks and appetizers of assorted cheeses, candied nuts, and pickled vegetables. We then moved inside to our various tables for a dinner of shrimp, mushroom, and artichoke casserole over white rice, tomato basil tart, strawberry salad, asparagus and hollandaise, and grilled pork loin. Dessert was turtle cheesecake, a gluten free "fat man's misery," and dark chocolate dipped strawberries.

It was such a blessing of an evening! I'll have a second post to showcase his baptism at the church.
