The Gateway to History had me design their rack cards, flyers, and this 8 foot tall banner for the Canton Welcome center. I am so lucky to be involved in this worthy project. The Gateway to History is preserving the land I grew up on and the land that my 5th great grandmother and grandfather owned and lived on. The hills, trees, flowers, and roads may be more familiar to me than the back of my hands. My dad who is on the committee helping, requested that I add a small Big Dipper constellation in the background somewhere. I didn't know why this was so important to him; he went on and on about how cool it would be. I added it in and finally asked why. He said that's part of the preservation, where else can you see the stars anymore? Rural Madison County is where. My dad made sure that I knew where the major constellations were when I was growing up and I never thought that other children didn't have that experience.
I am so proud of the land I grew up on and the childhood I was so very blessed to have. I’m so happy to be apart of this organization.
We're working on the website, I'll have that up as soon as it's done!
